Jun 04 The S.S. St. Louis, carrying 900+ Jewish refugees from Germany, is turned away from the Florida coast. In a great tragedy, the ship is also denied permission to dock in Cuba and eventually returns to Europe. Many of the refugees later die in Nazi concentration camps.
