Jul 14   In Chicago, Illinois, eight student nurses were killed in what was called the"crime of the century." Gloria Davy, Patricia Matusek, Nina Schmale, Pamela Wilkening, Suzanne Farris, Mary Ann Jordan, Merlita Gargullo, and Valentina Paison--all nursing students at the South Chicago Community Hospital--were strangled or stabbed to death by Richard Spec.
