The origin of Baker's Chocolate Company. John Hannon and physician Dr. James Baker start importing cocoa beans and producing chocolate in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Originally "Hannon’s Best Chocolate", James Baker bought the company in 1780, naming it Baker's Chocolate Company.
